When you come to Skin Cancer Specialists, expect to be welcomed in with open arms where your needs always come first.

Featured below are some helpful tips to follow in preparation for surgery.

Surgery Preparation Tips

When preparing for surgery, it is essential to let us know what medications you are currently taking. Some supplements can affect your chances of bleeding after surgery, especially if you’re taking blood thinners.

We also strongly encourage that you clear your schedule for the rest of the day because surgery times vary for Mohs procedures.

According to the Mayo Clinic, surgical procedures typically last a few hours but we advise that you reserve the whole day just in case it goes longer than expected.

Another recommendation would be to wear comfortable clothing in case you need to adjust during the procedure.
